Community guidelines

Last updated 15 October 2026. These guidelines are part of the Terms of use.

In danger, or someone is hurt? Call 112 (police, ambulance, fire; free, from any phone, anywhere in the EU) and tell the venue’s staff or security. LUX is not an emergency service.

Why we have rules

LUX is for finding great nights and the people to enjoy them with. That only works if everyone feels safe. If you break these rules, we may hide your content or profile, limit what you can do, or close your account.

1. Respect and consent

  • Be kind. Treat people as you would at the door of a party you love.
  • A no is a no. A declined or unanswered request is a no too. Do not ask again somewhere else.
  • Consent is needed for anything physical, every time, and can be taken back at any moment.

2. No harassment or hate

No insults, threats, intimidation or stalking. No sexual messages or pictures people did not ask for. No hate or discrimination because of who someone is: their origin, skin colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.

3. No pressure to meet

Meeting is always optional, and either of you can cancel at any time, without giving a reason. Do not guilt-trip or push anyone. Meet at the event, in public. Never pressure anyone to come to a private address.

4. Other people’s information is theirs

Do not share anyone’s contact details, photos, screenshots of chats, social handles or whereabouts without their permission. Do not film or photograph people who do not want it. Do not use someone else’s photo as your own.

5. Be real

One account per person, with your own photo and your real age. No fake accounts, no pretending to be someone else, no bots or automation. Connected profiles (Instagram, Spotify, Snapchat) must be your own.

6. Nothing for sale

  • No selling, buying or touting tickets on LUX. Buy tickets from the official shop the event links to.
  • No offering, asking for or arranging drugs. Ever.
  • No ads, promotion or selling of anything else. No spam, and no mass-sending your referral link or buying sign-ups.

7. Adults only

Accounts and everything social on LUX are for people aged 18 or over. Do not invite anyone younger. If someone seems to be under 18, report them; we close accounts of people under 18.

8. Nothing illegal

Do not post or share anything illegal, including content you do not have the rights to. Follow the law and the house rules of the venue.

Staying safe when you meet people

  • Meet at the event, where there are people around. LUX never shows anyone’s live location; people appear at the venue of an event they said they are going to.
  • Tell a friend. “Share my night” and the “Home safe” reminder go from your own phone through your own messenger. For live location, use your phone’s Find My or Google Maps with someone you trust.
  • Your contact details stay private until you both accept a request, and you can remove your contact method at any time.
  • Watch your drink. If you or a friend suddenly feel strange or unwell, go to the venue’s staff or first aid straight away. They help without judgement.
  • Plan your own way home.
  • Trust your gut. You can leave, block or report at any time, and you never owe anyone an explanation.

How to report or block

  • From someone’s card (People, the map, an event): tap Hi to open the Say hi sheet. At the bottom, tap Report, choose what happened (Harassment, Made me feel unsafe, Spam, Fake profile, Under 18 or Something else), add a short note if you want, and tap Send report. Or tap Block.
  • From a chat: tap the shield at the top, then Report or Block, and tap again to confirm. A report from a chat sends the last 20 messages with it, as your phone shows them, so we can see what happened.
  • Blocking works at once and both ways: neither of you sees the other any more, and any open request between you is closed.
  • Not a member, or about something else (an event, a listing, something illegal): email blueimpactfund@gmail.com.

What we do with reports

A person on the LUX team reads every report. On event nights we aim to act within hours. If someone may be in danger, we can hide a profile at once while we look. The person you report is not told who reported them. We tell you what we decided, and we tell the other person what we did and why, and how they can challenge it. If someone’s life or safety is at risk, we inform the police. Reporting someone falsely on purpose is against these rules. How moderation and appeals work is set out in the Terms of use.
