Your data: download or delete it
Last updated 15 October 2026. You can do both yourself, at any time, without asking us. The full details are in the privacy policy.
Download your data
- Sign in to LUX.
- Tap your photo to open your Profile, then the gear icon for Settings. Or go straight to /me/settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Download my data.
You get one JSON file with everything we hold about you: account, profile and photo, sign-ins, Going and Here now, stars, requests, friends, the messages you wrote, blocks, reports you made, points and survey answers, Beta Lounge records and staff actions on them, emails we sent you, your referral code and what it did, your connected profiles, and your measurement records linked to your account. Other people appear by alias only. People who joined through your links are counted, not named.
Delete your account
- Sign in, then go to Profile → Settings (/me/settings).
- At the very bottom, tap Delete my account.
- Tap Yes, delete everything to confirm.
The account is deleted at once, in one step, and you are signed out. There is no waiting period, and we cannot undo it. If you want a copy, download your data first.
What is deleted at once
Your profile and photo, email address, name, username and password, sign-ins and sign-in history, name searches, old chat keys, Going and Here now, stars, requests, friendships, the chats you are part of (for both people), your contact method, the blocks you made, points and survey answers, invitations and vouches, Beta Lounge verification and terms records, email choices, connected profiles, your referral code with the visits and credits through your links (and your own visits through other people’s links), your place in the comparison test, and the text of any report you wrote.
What is kept, and why
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
An empty account row: your account number, deleted:<number> where the email was, and dates | So the number is never given to someone else and the records below point at nobody | Kept; it holds nothing else about you |
| One entry noting that the account was deleted, and when | Proof that we did it | Kept |
| The fact of reports made by or about you (who, reason, decision), with your number pointing at nobody. If someone reported a chat with you, the messages they sent as evidence stay with that report | Safety: so we can still act on a pattern | 12 months after the report is handled |
| An operator’s record of any moderation action on the account | Accountability for moderation | Kept as the moderation record |
| Staff access log entries about the account | Accountability for who looked at private data | 12 months after each entry |
| Measurement records that carry your account number | They expire on their own | Up to 90 days |
| Ticket clicks, without any account number; any unpaid share for you is cancelled | To match a ticket shop’s sales report | Up to 24 months |
| Pro purchase records (no real payments exist in this test) | Bookkeeping; with real payments the law requires it | In the test: kept with a number that points at nobody; with real payments: as long as tax law requires (7 years) |
| A backup copy of the database a founder downloaded | Recovery if something breaks | Until that copy is deleted |
| Request logs at our hosting providers, Railway and Vercel | Security and operation | Days, then they expire |
Anything another member saved or screenshotted outside LUX is beyond our reach.
If you cannot sign in any more
Write to blueimpactfund@gmail.com, if you can from the email address on your account. If your account has no email you can use, tell us your username, your alias and an event you went to. We only ask what we need to be sure the account is yours, and never for a copy of your ID. A founder then deletes the account for you in the same way as the button. We answer and act within one month; if a request is complex we may need up to two more months, and we tell you within the first month. We confirm when it is done.
Forget your measurement id
If you said yes to usage stats, this device is counted under a random id. You can withdraw here (or in the Measurement section of the privacy policy). To have the records on our server deleted too, note the id below before you withdraw and send it to blueimpactfund@gmail.com; we delete them.
Your current choice on this device: ….
Delete what is stored only in your browser
Your stars, picks, theme, filters and which tips you have seen are kept in your browser (the list is in the cookies section). Signing out already removes your stars from that browser. To remove everything, clear this site’s data in your browser’s settings: on iPhone, Settings → Apps → Safari → Advanced → Website Data; in Chrome, the icon left of the address → Site settings → Delete data. If you added LUX to your home screen, remove the icon too.
Correct your data
Change your alias, photo, interests, languages, dates and visibility under Profile → Settings. Change or remove a connected profile by tapping it on your Profile (Disconnect removes it). To change your email address, write to us.
Other rights and complaints
To object to something we do with your data, or to ask us to restrict it, write to blueimpactfund@gmail.com. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl), or to the authority in the country where you live.
